The staff and clergy were incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable, providing fascinating insights into the cathedral’s rich history and significance. One of the highlights of my visit was attending a service, which was a deeply moving experience. The sense of community and tradition within the walls of Saint George Cathedral is palpable. Whether you are there for worship, to admire the art and architecture, or simply to find a moment of peace, this cathedral is a must-visit. Highly recommended for anyone exploring the spiritual and cultural heritage of the area.

The meaning and importance of this place is valuable. This is a place that is in my central position for the Orthodox world, the symbol of the covend given by Fatih Sultan Mehmet for Muslim Turks.

Interesting part of the story. This church was founded by Apostle Andrew. If you're in this part of Istanbul, it's worth a visit. This Church of St. George the Victorious is the main patriarchal church of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Constantinople. The Church in Constantinople was founded by the holy Apostle Andrew the First-Called. After Constantinople became the capital of the Roman Empire in 330, its ecclesiastical position increased to the status it still has today.
