Amazing food and a true Michelin restaurant! It is a small intimate space so reservations are highly recommended.
The selling point of coming here was the option to do a la carte, as my boyfriend does not like seafood and some of the other Michelin restaurants in MX were set menu.
Every dish that we had was amazing. We started off with the passion fruit mezcal mule. Super refreshing with a nice hint of mezcal smoke.
We were served complimentary cactus dashi. My boyfriend was hesitant to try this but he loved it!! It was served warm and very soothing for our stomachs. When we told our server how much we loved it, they even gave us a second serving :)
We shared the corn soup. It was soooo creamy and delicious. Loved how they poured the soup in front of us! And the chili gave it a nice kick but it wasn't too spicy.
The brioche bread with the cultured butter went well with the soup and we were very happy they were served together. The butter was also super pretty to look at as it had some sort of ash designed into it.
The charred baby corn was my boyfriend's favorite. We had never had corn served this way! Super unique. A big portion as well.
The grilled chicken definitely stole the show. The best chicken I have ever had! The meat was so juicy and the skin perfectly crisp. I lovedddddd this dish. And it came with a lot as well such as bean puree.
We were so full we almost couldn't finish the rib eye. The meat was soft and the slices thick. My boyfriend doesn't like mushrooms but he ate the mushrooms and gravy haha.
The staff here were super nice. It didn't seem like you are assigned one server tho because multiple staff kept asking us the same thing. Also I think they got our take out food mixed up with someone else's! We asked to pack up a tiny bit of charred corn but when we got home our taken out was of chicken lol.

Honestly I liked it more before it was awarded with a Michelin Star. For the tasting menu some things are worth and some others very average or below average. Presentation is very nice but taste is not outstanding. Thanks to the award service is good as in that area service tends to be terrible for mexican standards. If you visit I recommend to skip the tasting menu (also price is vey high for what it is) and go for a la carte so you can order the specialties
Food & wine pairing: truly exceptional. We were just in Japan for a week and ate at multiple 1 and 3 star places - this was better than all of them. Possibly the best wine pairing I’ve ever had at this price point.
Service: truly attentive, fun and friendly. We ended up getting an accidental free glass of Burgundy Pinot Noir because of it!
Atmosphere: like eating on a perfect summer evening with no sirens or loud noises (other than the traditional handcart whistle outside.
Highly recommend! And don’t forget to make a reservation at the speakeasy upstairs for an after dinner drink!

Another amazing meal @em.rest We were here in October and did the tasting menu. This time we ordered off the à la cart menu. We ordered for the table and shared items so we could taste it all.
Everything was great but again my favorite flavor came from the Dashi broth. It was clear, had so much flavor and umami. In October it was a corn broth. I will come back just to taste the next broth creation.
Then the fish and chicken were show stopping. Perfectly cooked, seasoned and flavors that were fancy Mexican with all the heart of this wonderful city.

Ampliamente recomendado.
Absolutely amazing meal! Definitely in my top 3 Mexico City food experiences ever. I will continue dreaming of this meal. Waiter & service was great too! So sorry can’t remember our waiter’s name (maybe sounded like elan? He had braces?). Sommelier was great in helping us choose bottles of wine too. Can’t wait to come back! With 2 bottles of wine and a round of cocktails, the tasting menu bill came to about $250pp.
Also falsch gelagert nehme ich an.
