Norvan Falls
Very doable hike to beautiful falls! We didn't know how to get to the closest parking lot, so we parked by the suspension bridge. In total our roundtrip walk took around 5 house. No extremely hard areas. The falls were beautiful to take pics at. Highly recommend!
Above Grounds Coffee House
Grabbed a pumpkin spice latte and a bagel with cream cheese from here and was very happy with my items. The pumpkin spice latte was really good because it wasn't overly sweet. The barista even came up to me to make sure it was done to my liking, such a sweetheart!
There is also a really nice covered balcony that you can sit in and people watch while you enjoy your drinks and food. The WiFi here is super fast, faster than the resort we are staying at (go figure). If I lived in Placencia I would come here every morning!

Amazing food and a true Michelin restaurant! It is a small intimate space so reservations are highly recommended.
The selling point of coming here was the option to do a la carte, as my boyfriend does not like seafood and some of the other Michelin restaurants in MX were set menu.
Every dish that we had was amazing. We started off with the passion fruit mezcal mule. Super refreshing with a nice hint of mezcal smoke.
We were served complimentary cactus dashi. My boyfriend was hesitant to try this but he loved it!! It was served warm and very soothing for our stomachs. When we told our server how much we loved it, they even gave us a second serving :)
We shared the corn soup. It was soooo creamy and delicious. Loved how they poured the soup in front of us! And the chili gave it a nice kick but it wasn't too spicy.
The brioche bread with the cultured butter went well with the soup and we were very happy they were served together. The butter was also super pretty to look at as it had some sort of ash designed into it.
The charred baby corn was my boyfriend's favorite. We had never had corn served this way! Super unique. A big portion as well.
The grilled chicken definitely stole the show. The best chicken I have ever had! The meat was so juicy and the skin perfectly crisp. I lovedddddd this dish. And it came with a lot as well such as bean puree.
We were so full we almost couldn't finish the rib eye. The meat was soft and the slices thick. My boyfriend doesn't like mushrooms but he ate the mushrooms and gravy haha.
The staff here were super nice. It didn't seem like you are assigned one server tho because multiple staff kept asking us the same thing. Also I think they got our take out food mixed up with someone else's! We asked to pack up a tiny bit of charred corn but when we got home our taken out was of chicken lol.

Birria El Jarocho
This is a cool food stand! There are limited tables and chairs but you can also sit on the barstools right at the stand in front of where they cook.
The staff speak minimal English but I had no issues ordering with my broken Spanish! Although I meant to order quesabirria tacos and I think I got the quesadillas de queso instead lol.
The quesadillas that they serve are large portions with lots of meat and cheese. The flour is super soft and chewy which was different. The consome was flavourful. They serve you this red tomato sauce to put on your quesabirria that is not spicy at all.
Overall it was great trying this place out! But not sure if we would be back again!
