There is plenty of shade, lots of places to buy drinks and ice creams, lots of fountains with drinkable water as well. The picnic area is big and offers a choice between long tables for big groups or small table with some privacy for families of small groups. Buying the tickets online is cheaper than at the ticket office, but if you have a voucher or another type of discount you can only buy the tickets at regular prices at the zoo. The dolphin show is worth it, but not very elaborate. The cable car is not that interesting, most of the path is over buildings and the outside of the zoo. The final part descending to the end is the best, it's when you see most animals. But since it is included in the ticket it is worth the ride, more than once if you have the chance. Try to look for leopards on the way up and red pandas on the way down.
