Restaurant Red

Last year we went to its sister restaurant Black and really enjoyed it so thought we’d try this one. We were a large group of 10 and had booked ahead of time. We all tried their rib eye with fries which was excellent, can’t fault their meat cooking skills. I had the scallops for starters which were delicious and creamy also.
We had a few cocktails and wine bottles also, everything was good and service was decent.

Very quiet restaurant, almost a romantic vibe to it so perhaps not the best place for 10 rowdy lads on tour. Reasonably priced in my opinion, good location.

Looking forward to restaurant BLUE next year!

Fantastic food just way too pricey, only go if you can afford. We took the 5 cheapest dishes to share between two with no drinks and still paid £80 which is outrageous for Mexican food. Having said that, each dish was unique in its taste and we appreciated each bite of each dish. Service was friendly and professional. The menu is rather complicated to understand for non-Mexicans in my opinion so we had to ask for some advice. Really enjoyed it, only really marking down for pricing.
Starters average, mains average although nicely presented I must say, staff average, price rather pricy, comfort average. Wouldn’t come back for food, didn’t even have wine.
Jersey War Tours

Highly recommend this tour, we absolutely loved it and it's worth every penny of the £45pp you will pay. We had no idea that Jersey has so much WW2 history with the island full of bunkers and thanks to this tour and Phil knowledge we got to understand it really well. Basically Phil, your guide, will pick you up in his massive Land Rover at the pre-arranged time and then drive you across the island to several bunker/tunnel sights given you all the history on the way. This also means that there can be only 4 max on the tour given the car constraint. We saw 4 different sights, 3 bunkers and 1 tunnel complex in the space of 4h. What is great is that the tour is relatively informal in that there is no set number of sights (Phil has the keys to 20+ bunkers) and no set time at each sight; you go at your own pace, ask Phil any questions about WW2 but also about Jersey itself as he is a true local. For instance 2 of our sights were initially not planned but when Phil heard we were unable to go to the War Tunnels Museum, he took us to see some tunnels. Phil has clearly done this for a number of years and his expertise, good vibes and smooth driving really make for a great tour.

I'll be honest, through this tour you kind of get a private tour of the island itself and Phil will answer any question you may have. This fully justified us not booking our own car since we spent 4h going around anyway. £45 may seem steep but it's worth it given that it's an almost private tour and it funds the research that Phil and his colleague do for the island. Highly recommend this over the War Tunnels Museum.

PS: you also get to touch all kinds of cool (deactivated) weapons

I’ve been coming to this lovely family owned Persian restaurant for over 10 years now. The consistency and quality of the dishes never fail. I always take the boneless chicken with saffron rice and that one dish is usually quite enough anyway. Add some houmous and bread and you will be truly full. Their bread made in the clay oven is super traditional and delicious. Paid 32£ with service charge.

Staff were friendly and professional. However, refusing to give tap water was a low blow. I didn’t want to make a scene but a reminder it’s the law to give someone tap water if they ask for some.

I cannot compare this restaurant to other Persian restaurants in the neighborhood but I know this one is good enough for me not to try other ones out.
