Another ‘tourist’ place , nothing much to shout about.

Food is served super fast (not that i am complaining on this) after ordering, but noodles doesn’t have wok hey at all.

However the baby octopus has good texture and soya sauce compliments it well.

Highlight for me in this shop is their super appetising CHILLI SAUCE.

This restaurant sits on the same row as Ipoh's famous "Nga Choi Gai" (bean sprout chicken) restaurants, making it a popular destination for tourists. It underwent a light renovation, offering a cleaner and more inviting dining environment.

On our last visit, we ordered their signature "moonlight" kuey teow (stir-fried rice noodles with a raw egg yolk), stir-fried yee mee (thin yellow noodles), braised chicken legs, and cooked bean sprouts with soy sauce. The dishes were flavorful and portioned well, offering a taste of everyday local cuisine rather than fancy fare.

While there might be more exciting options available, this restaurant delivers good value for money. The service is fast, the location is convenient (situated in a tourist hotspot), and the food quality is above average.

High table turnover rate, they have a good tabling service and system.. However food is pretty subjective- what is the difference between Wok Hei and Burnt? 🤔 Personally I feel it’s burnt..

Squid and fried chicken is pretty good.

Squid was good but may be too chewy for weak teeth. Soy sauce noodle(伊麵) exceeded expectations. Braised tofu not tasty enough. Bean sprout could be better with pepper powder.

Lovely, absolutely lovely.. the silky smooth moonlight hor fan is just brought to another level by the egg. Flavor is on point, with a tinge of wok hey. Unlike many establishments, there isn’t a copious amount of pork lard but there isn’t a need to as the star of the show is the hor fan. A minor complaint would be the choice of meat - sliced pork belly would seem to be a better choice as the 瘦肉 gets too dry.

Octopus is lovely - perfectly cooked, tender and the natural sweetness released with each bite. Spring onion and soy sauce the perfect condiments.

And of course, the bean sprouts. You haven’t been to Ipoh if you haven’t eaten bean sprouts. Just something about it that makes it different - juicy and crunchy, the perfect palate cleanser for the hor fan.

Baby octopus is a must try, disappointed on the fried chicken wing, not as delicious as described by others. Fish noodle is good though. Hokkien mee (thick noodle) is not available, which is disappointing too.

Moon Hor Fun is alil salty, but still good! Slurpy, wet and chewy :) Octopus is a must-try, not overcooked and it taste very fresh! Crispy Noodles taste familiar, try to eat it as soon as it's served so that you can enjoy a mix of soft and crispy texture! Spring Roll is well fried, but can be meatier... Chicken feet is slow cooked for a very long time such that you can bite into the bones to extract the juicy marrows, like sugar cane. Bean sprouts are fat and juicy, mixed with mouthwatering soy sauce. By far, very impressed with it 👍 all for 82rm

We felt like noodles for dinner so we went to Tuck Kee and not just any branch, we went to the legendary original location tonight! Luckily enough, there was no lineup. Is it worth driving downtown and fighting for parking spot to go to this one? Yes it is! Not all branches of Tuck Kee are created equal and although the one on the next street across is excellent, this original location has earned its reputation by serving the highest quality noodles and side dishes consistency over the years. Since we had a few people with us, we were able to order ALL of the standard classics including our favourite side dishes like chicken feet, octopus and fried chicken wings!
