Eye-catching.
A striking memorial to Godfrey Sykes (1824-1866), the Sheffield-born craftsman and designer, probably best known for the decorative design of the Victoria & Albert Museum.
It's a carved terracotta column, based on some of Sykes's designs, and depicts youth, middle age and old age.
A statue honouring Ebenezer Elliott (1781-1849), who campaigned against the Corn Laws, which imposed a tax on corn and so made bread more expensive.
He also wrote poetry, and so was known as the 'Corn-Law Rhymer' and the 'Pauper's Poet'.

Weston Park is a really nice green space in Sheffield, close to the University and hospitals, and about 20 minutes' walk from the city centre or a short stroll from the University/Hospitals tram stop.
It's a lovely spot to relax on a sunny summer afternoon!
Weston Park Museum depicts the story of Sheffield and its people, from prehistory to the present day.
A range of galleries house fascinating and informative displays of historic artefacts, zoological items, nostalgic objects, and artworks depicting Sheffield.
The museum is open daily except Mondays, and is free to enter.
A great place to visit and explore.
