Phu Pink closed down so went to try this place. Not impressed at all!
The flavours were lacking and the food was not worth it. We ordered a large soup, full fried chicken and 3 medium sized dishes and it came to SR400! Very expensive for this type of food in a down town run down neighborhood.
The food was bland and seriously lacked flavour. This was the biggest issue about this place. I definitely would not come back here again. They didn't even have soy sauce!

Heliopolis Khobar Egyptian Restaurant

First time I tried actual Egyptian food. My initial thoughts of the place as I walked in wasn't so positive. The interior and decor looked a bit outdated, worn out and not so clean. We walked in and were given menus as we were directed towards our table, a private cubicle. It was spacious, which is good for a small crowd of 6. The waiter forgot we were sitting there, even though the restaurant wasn't busy at all, and I had to go looking for him! Not a great start.
We ordered several dishes in order to grasp what Egyptian cuisine was all about. When the food arrived we were pleasantly surprised with the portion and presentation. The meat pieces in the mixed grill were all succulent and juicy. It was meaty. The koshari was lightly flavoured and the complementary sauce was spot on. The various rice and other meat dishes were all good. We even had dessert (umm ali) and it was just right, not too thick and not too runny. It had coconut and raisins with almond flakes mixed into it. Really nice.
The dishes were reasonably priced for a restaurant close to the corniche in Khobar. Most dishes ranged between SR20-45. I would recommend this place and I would definitely go back again.

Been here a few times. It's a good place with good food and service. The price is a bit expensive. I usually spend SR300+ for my wife and 3 young children. Very nice to go with family. They have large private rooms with really nice curved sofa seats. Spacious private rooms. The staff can speak Arabic, Urdu, Bengali and English. Very professional and polite staff.

This is a South East Asian restaurant. They do a mixture of Thai, Phillipino and Indonesian food. The food is pretty good, though sometimes the quality does slack a little. The service is friendly but not all the waiters understand English properly so avoid using jargon, idioms, slang or colloquial phrases as that'll confuse them and mess up the order. They offer a complimentary jug of ice tea, which is nice.
Their portions are decent and the price is average to slightly high for a low/mid end restaurant in the middle of downtown. They don't have AC, just electric fans, so when it gets packed with customers it's like a sauna in there. This ruins the overall experience for me as the heat and humidity is difficult to ride. My real rating of this place is 3.5, not 4 stars.
