For RM12.00 per serving, Goggles Man Char Koay Teow comes with 2 huge succulent prawns which were so fresh that it is crunchy, fried pork lard, and slices of Chinese sausage (lap cheong) in a paper plate. You need not ask for no cockles as it is not served with cockles. It is lighter than my favourite Tiger Char Koay Teow at Carnavan Street.

There is a history behind the stall as the original Char Koay Teow stall here was the rude Red Hat Aunty that moved down the road to take residence in Kafe Heng Huat after she bought the premises.

Goggles Man then took over the CKT spot here, built up his reputation over the years and ended also buying up the shop lot renaming it KTG Cafe from the original name of Low Eng Hoo Cafe.

So there are two famous Char Koay Teows along this stretch of Lorong Selamat that have a following on food blogs, Instagram and Tik Tok.

We were told the Char Hor Fun, Belacan Chicken and Satay are very good, unfortunately the satay stall was not open when we visited and we found the Char Hor Fun average. Not many options but there is a wantan noodle stall and a burger stall on the street.

Coffee is really good, the kopi peng is the creamy and flavourful.

The Virgin Lounge at Sydney Domestic is a great no frills lounge that serves multiple choices of domestic craft beers and wines. It serves decent food and have workstations for the traveling executive.

Commendable but I think the Virgin Lounge at Melbourne is better.

Established since 1948 housed in a shop on Bridge Street (now known as Jalan C.Y. Choy) in Georgetown, Him Heang is presently run by the 3rd generation from the 3-storey building located in Burmah Road since 1993.

Famous for its Tambun biscuits, which is the petite version of Tow Sar Peah. After dethroning Ghee Hiang, Him Hwang has been the market leader although of late, Ban Heang has made inroads into the same space with bright coloured packaging.

Fiesta is the breakfast venue when staying at the Sari Pacific, an Autograph Collection hotel. It also is open for 3 meal periods.

Un-renovated, this restaurant looks like a postcard from the 1970s. However, service is good and there is a wide selection of breakfast options, Western, Chinese, Japanese, Indian and Indonesian for breakfast. However, food quality and presentation is average.
