You know what? It’s good, it’s really good. This is the number one place everybody keeps telling me to for poutine. “The number 1 poutine in Canada!” They said.

I agree, you can’t find this in Toronto. It just tastes different. The quality of the curds and the gravy is outstanding.

It’s a place open 24 hours a day and has a line 24 hours a day. We waited for quite a long while, I’m not too sure if the line was worth it though. I think it’s definitely worth it if I were to get it to go or if the line was a bit shorter. But the outstanding poutine doesn’t translate to the line for me.

Don’t get me wrong, I love poutine, but not this much. I definitely recommend here to all my friends to try out poutine in Quebec, but it’s not so I’d wait in line for again.

You get a really large menu, like you get a lot of things on your poutine. Mine personally came with bacon and mushrooms and sour cream and I think it’s the best one to be honest. It was called La Panoramix. My friend said topping to fries proportion was off (too little fries) and I agree for hers.

I think the only reason I’m giving it a four star is for personal note. It’s too hyped up, even though everything is amazing. I’ll definitely come here again, but for takeout or something.

Thank you for having me! :)
Half Georgian here 💁🏻‍♀️

I’ve never been to Georgia, but my extended Georgian family has grown up with me here in Canada, we’re basically neighbours. So though I don’t speak Georgian or know their culture fully, let’s say I know the food culture in and out.

As I grew up eating it, it’s like comfort food to me. Georgian food is always warm like the sun, and yet I don’t eat it often enough for it to become mundane.

I was craving it, and there it was on google maps, a 10 minute walk away. I was alone, so I was quite nervous. Like yes I am Georgian but with identity crises that comes with being mixed there was a layer of unease. I knew the foods, but I didn’t feel enough to KNOW them.

The staff were really nice :) they said I can sit anywhere, so I chose the corner seat. OH! And man that entrance door is FANCY! Had me feeling like I was only allowed here for fancy dinners at first 😭

The chairs are comfy just like the food hehe. I ordered Lobio and Khinkali. My aunt always makes khachapuri so I thought I’d order things I only get to eat at bigger dinners. And man did they not disappoint.

I definitely underestimated the size of the Lobio. Obviously it’s a shareable appetizer, come on Emily! But I got to take some home so whatever 😋

It’s SO good though. There’s never a SET way to make Lobio, it’s just always with kidney beans, so I love to try how each place makes it. They all taste good anyways. All the same power and warmth of spices but just different ones. They brought bread and different sauces to eat with it.

Khinkali was just as warm. They’re Georgian soup dumplings. They’re GIANT so if you’re used to smaller Asian ones like xlb be prepared, 3 will make you full. It’s slightly spicy and has a nice kick, but not overpowering so you get tired of it.

Again, the staff was so warm and nice, bless yall.

დიდი მადლობა! Thank you so much for having me :D

Soup noodles are the best in this weather, and I came across this pho place 😋

I wasn’t really sure what to expect- I haven’t had any bad pho per se, so my scale for what’s good is quite broken. but lemme tell you, it’s GOOD.

I got the beef pho, and it came with well cooked beef as well as lined with raw beef. The quality of the meat is great, I didn’t realize how dry other beef’s in pho has been till this. It’s soft while still maintaining chew, and it absorbs so much flavour.

Speaking about absorbing flavor, I haven’t had pho noodles that are this flavourful. It’s actually kinda crazy??? Like I ate it, but there were so many layers of flavour just on the noodles, I think I would’ve gotten extra if I could.

It had a very slight spice to it, but in the most enjoyable way. It was one flavour within those layers of flavour, but not in a “it’s too little spice” way, but one that works harmoniously with the other flavours.

I love the interior of the place too. It’s small but doesn’t feel overwhelming, and I love how they designed the menu. It’s modern but also doesn’t lack any personality, it’s a really pleasant place to be in. It actually reminds me of what you’d find in a night market in Asia, just bigger.

The chefs were nice and chill too! No problems there. They’re willing to answer any questions you have too.

Tldr; It’s one of those bowls you’d eat even if you’d burn your tongue (which I did…worth it!)

Thank you so much for having me! :D I’ll def be back.
Maybee it was a bad day. Maybe.

My friend and I were craving noodles, and Misoya was just a walk down the street, so we set our destination here.
See, I’m Japanese, so I know about Misoya. I know it’s a really big chain in Japan. But, through the excitement of its authenticity, I forgot that in the end, it is a chain.
Therefore, the quality isn’t high by any means, it might actually be low. Not BAD like I wouldn’t eat it- I literally ate ramen with extra noodles.

The quality was good, the taste was something that you wouldn’t find in most Ramen places in Toronto, and then that, since you know it’s from Japan. But I think it was slightly bit overcooked, because the noodles were slightly too, voluminous if that makes sense.

I think what broke did you for me was the bamboo shoots. I really like bamboo shoots. I was even planning to get extra, but I’m glad I didn’t, because it tasted… Almost expired. Now I don’t know what expired bamboo shoots taste like, but this isn’t what bamboo shoots taste like. It was oddly bitter and sour at the same time, and I was disappointed, even though it’s a small part of the Ramen, and it might seem petty.

The broth was pretty good, it was a little bit on the thicker side, not just oil, but the literal thickness. We did go in towards the end of the day, so maybe that’s why the quality was like this.

The service was nice though, this is nothing against the servers, or the people of the place, it’s just an unfortunate coincidence with the food.

It was definitely way too hot when we came in, but we cooled down through our time there.

As for price, definitely on the higher side, even for Toronto. I’ve definitely seen higher prices for Ramen in the GTA, but their quality matched their prices a little bit better than this place does.

I’d love to come in and try again, because I trust that it was just a coincidence and an unfortunate mishap that the quality wasn’t upheld.

P.S their gyoza was very Japanese and very good! This one I like!
Thank you for having me! :D

This is a very well known chain in Toronto, known to be a lot of people’s favourites- for me, it’s in the top 3 for sure!

The thing about the location is…there’s some problems.

Let’s start with the food though, it was the best part. I got the black garlic and my friend got the black miso. We also got seaweed salad and corn croquette.

The ramen was amazing. The noodles were chewy, the broth was heartwarming, and the meat just melted in your mouth. I ate the corn croquette, that one was mid. It’s a new item and I like croquettes a lot so I thought I’d give it a try, but the flavour is just in a blend very well, but like every single Santosei Ramen store, the ramen was very good. Is it pricey? Yes, it’s 16-18$ for noodles 😭 but that’s Toronto for you.

Now, the service. The people themselves were really kind and nice. They did their job properly, it’s nothing on them. The thing this mostly relates to is the layout of the place. Where we were seated and where they are standing, they can’t see if we need their help at all.

They didn’t really check that much, especially for when we wanted to order at the beginning. Again, this is nothing on the workers, this is more about how they created the layout of the restaurant.

Another thing about the layout is the washroom. The lighting is really bad. And I’m not talking for bathroom. Mirror pics, I’m talking about about can-I-see-if-the-toilet-seat-I’m-about-to-sit-on-is-dirty type of deal. You really can’t see anything. I get that there’s not much space in the washroom, so it definitely feels cramped. Your knees are almost touching the wall when you sit down. But it’s mostly the lighting.

This leaves into the smell, there was a really odd smell around the middle of the restaurant…not sure what’s that about.

No complaints for the workers and food, just saying how it could improve.
