Ulster Museum
2024 Feb 19
Access is free to visit and no bookings required. We found the museum collections location difficult and struggling without a map. Ulster Museum is home to Northern Ireland’s treasures of past and present. Home to rich collections of art, history and natural sciences all set within the beautiful surroundings of Belfast’s Botanic Gardens. Discover new perspectives about Ancient Ireland, inclusive global histories, the Troubles, and whatever the future may hold. The collections of Ulster Museum tell the story of our shared experiences, connecting the dots around who we are, the past we share, and the future we are building together.
This bronze statue by Elizabeth McLaughlin is a tribute to Countess Markievicz, an inspiring Irish politician, revolutionary, nationalist and suffragette. The statue depicts the Countess Markievicz in an informal pose almost as if she was in motion. With her dog, Poppet, at her side, the pose is reminiscent of how she would have lived her life in Lissadell House in County Sligo before coming to Dublin to support the fight for freedom of her homeland.

Whole place are very well maintained. Small cozy shop with strawberry theme makes this place warm like you back to granny in countryside. Are you a fan of jam? If so, you’ll be delighted to hear that this Bord Bia quality assured soft fruit producer has recently launched a premium jam range made only with fresh fruit from their family farm! This Co. Meath farm boasts 70 acres of land on which they grow strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and blueberries. Pat Clarke, owner, was the first person to introduce the Elsanta variety of strawberries to Ireland back in 1983! I will be definitely coming back for dose of this new and highly recommended. There are few tables outside of you want to stay longer or have a coffee, but coffee you need to get before coming there.
Acantilados De Los Gigantes
2023 May 13
Located in the municipality of Santiago del Teide, The Cliff of the Giants (Los Gigantes) lives up to its name. It is one of the most spectacular landscapes in Tenerife. The 600-metre-tall basalt slab has a great wealth of local, protected wildlife and is a tremendous sight whether viewed by land or sea. The Giants, a grand part of the natural heritage of Tenerife, is a great spot for nature lovers and those looking for a get-away with lots of marine life. Boat trips are recommended. Although the Giants was known by the Guanche, the aboriginal people of Tenerife, as “Hell's Wall”, the natural monument is an ideal place for kayaking, whale and dolphin watching, and diving (where, to a depth of 30 metres, there is a rich biodiversity). Other attractions in the local area include a beautiful beach with natural pools.
