This shop serves the amazing dessert, and it is just what we need after such a scorching day. There are also various stalls in front selling various food such as noodles, braided and marinated pork etc and they let you bring the food in as long as you order the dessert and drinks from them. Needless to say, we enjoyed the food immensely and gave in to our greedy tendency in over indulging (as we often do when we are visiting the island). There is just so much great food and so little time (and stomach capacity) to enjoy them all. The service was quite fast despite the large dinner crowd, and we got out food very quickly. I love the art pieces the wall depicting the various famous street art on the island. The restaurant is not the place to linger, so we went out to continue our food hunt again.

I love shooting structures and this is definitely one of the more unusual architectural design that I have come to expect from the city. I am glad I got to be here for the night shot with all the lights up! Next plan is to visit again during the day time to get some contrast shots of the tower against a bright blue sky on a sunny day. Of course, I would love to visit the interior of this modern bell tower as well. The view from the top must be magnificent!

This is a wonderful place for pictures. You can stand here and watch the ships come into the harbour. There are all types of ships from boats to ferries. The view of the Oslo fjord in front of you is amazing and on a clear sunny day, you can see all the way to the nearby islands. There are some tour offices here where you can get tickets for a boat tour around the nearby islands.

Came here during the summer a few years ago when this was newly built and it was so crowded. Now that I am back to Oslo for a visit, I took the opportunity to pop by and was delighted to see a considerably less crowded space (even during an evening with performance). I enjoyed the warm interior design and it is such a contrast with the cold motive (the building looks like a floating iceberg from afar - to me at least). The exterior is also very chic, with clean, sharp lines in all the right angles. Despite the cold and biting wind, I braved the elements outside to take some pics and marvelled at the beautiful design. Then, I took a stroll inside and there were some pretty interesting designs there as well. I was amazed at the vast and spacious cost room being just 'out there' and also the rows of lockers for personal belongings. The high ceiling and glass panels gave plenty of space and natural light, even in the gray of early winter. For a floating iceberg, it gives off a very welcome vibe indeed!

One of our favourite breakfast spot (aptly named) in town last year. Mom loved this place and she looked forward to the weekend all the time so she could come over for their food and coffee. We would come early to bag the limited parking spots as mom has difficulty in walking far. The menu is quite extensive and you order and pay online. If you are here bright and early, the food may take some time to arrive. The food is delicious and the coffee even more so. I haven't tried their pastries yet but they seem to be quite popular judging from my observation of other nearby tables. The patio seating seemed to be a favourite of many guests and they also have a huge space upstairs. I love the decoration (especially the book rack). I imagine I'd get immerse in a good book and just hang out upstairs with cups of coffee and a croissant.
