An excellent museum covering a wide range of cultures, exhibits and animals. Including a detailed history of Exeter. How many of these exhibits came to be at the museum (amongst others), is starting to be addressed by the museum themselves. Although, it is free to visit.
A museum that provides a narrative of what happened before the Mayflower departed, its voyager and ultimate arrival in North America. With a focus on not on those colonists, but those tribes that were ultimately colonised.

The museum is inexpensive, with a lift to all levels. You start at the top and work your way down. Due to the nature of the Mayflower, you won't see any primary exhibits (as few items would still be arouns from ordinary folk, with scant resources). Instead it will be from letters of the time, providing a narrative for the era and its impact to this day.

I did hear an old boy complain about how the museum doesn't say about all the good things the colonisers did. Even saying those tribes would want reparations. Considering 90% of the Wampanoag died because of the colonisers, mainly from disease, I don't think that is a pat on the back moment for England. He seemed like the type of person, that this sort of narrative displayed in the museum could open up other point of view.

An interesting castles and one of the older ones in the Netherlands. The herb garden is quite pleasant, as are the views of the surrounding area. Like most sites in the Netherlands, it is on the expensive side if you don't have discount. As you would expect with a castle, it has quite a few stairs. Displays are also in English, although they have an audioguide available in various languages

Museum covering the local history of Haarlem, with information in English and well laid out
The remains of a Roman theatre underneath some houses, makes for a unique viewing. The small museum is of interest.

However, the view from the teatro of the modern buildings isn't great. It seems a lot of lime plaster was blown off the apartment building, onto the theatre and has been left. It is in dire need of a lick of a paint. I don't see why they couldn't paint a mural on the apartment wall, to be like the video of the theatre shown. Would be a bit involved, but better than what is on show.
