We took the ferry from the city to Hobsonville, and it was a pretty calm ride. The market itself was a little smaller than I was expecting, but it did not disappoint. I spent a little too much money there, which is probably a good endorsement. There are plenty of great food stalls, and interesting little craft-type places to shop at. We went for a walk around the coastal track, though with the building going on, it's not all open.

I go jogging here (semi) regularly and it's a great spot. A nice path that goes all the way up to Pt England and connects to the walk there. Almost always other people on the path, dogs, cyclists etc and sports being played on the weekends. Great views of the estuary too. Often rowing/ boating out on the water.

I visited on a blustery winters day, with occasional downpours and it was still beautiful.
There were no flowers to be seen of course, but I think the native plants truly shine in the this sort of climate. I was a little surprised by the number of people there, but I guess everyone had the same sort of idea. There are a lot of interesting and educational garden setups around and the occasional sculpture have hidden among the scenery is a nice surprise.
Also recommend the cafe.

I grew up around this place - used to have a paper round that passed by it (back when it was surrounded by fields) and I still like to pop back and visit on occasion.
Though it always seems smaller than I remember.
There are some great bush walks, a nice picnic area, and in the summer, swimming pools.
