Amazing museum with large permanent exhibitions covering religious art, painting & sculpture. Great collection of local artists displayed chronologically.
I was lucky to meet an incredible temporary exhibition of famously known Valencian artist Sorolla which was extraordinary.
The museum is free which is so generous and the facilities are great with many bathrooms and handicap access. The only downside for me was that you need to leave your bag and water in a locker that works with only works with euro coins (which is given back). That’s a headache If you don’t bring any cash which is not that uncommon nowadays.

Incredible building! Beautiful both on its interiors and also facades. I would recommend to spend some time watching the videos explaining the history and details of the building!
Sunday’s is free :) but regardless it would be worth it to pay for an entry ticket!

We were greatly surprised by this museums.
Great exhibitions and many great works of Nordic painters.
The building itself deserves a visit.
It also has a vey cosy cafe with great food and treats.
Would definitely recommend!

Beautiful museum that covers the country history from the early inhabitants to the most recent times. Great exhibitions with lots of interesting artifacts and explanations. I would recommend to spend at least a couple of hours and either arrive early or book tickets to avoid any lines. It’s has a free cloakroom service that i used to leave my bags and visit a bit the surroundings before heading to the airport. That saved me some time and money instead of having to leave the stuff at luggage deposit.

Amazing building, a must visit if you are in Budapest. Would really recommend to plan its visit it advance ideally by booking online tickets. Otherwise go very early during the day to try ti get some tickets that are made available for same day. Ticket office opens at 8, I got there around 8:30 and after waiting for more than an hour I was able to get a ticket for the Spanish tour at 14:30, but not many tickets were left. So in order to avoid the line, secure a spot in your language and be able to plan your day freely do the online booking.
The visit is very organize. The staff is nice and it includes a short (45 minute) but impressive visite to the building. Audio guide is included and it’s very insightful. There is a little museum at the end which is very nice. Ticket office are also has a shop, a caffe and bathroom (there are bathrooms outside by the main stairs which are free).
