It’s located in the heart of San Jose so it’s great for shopping and seeing the bustling city life. However it is very noisy at night time. There was a lot of commotion in the lobby late at night making it difficult to sleep. There is no parking but you can pay by the hour to park at the 3 different parking lots located half a block away. Parking was around 1000 colones an hour.

The zoo has a variety of different animals and plants and the layout of their enclosures allow you to get quite close to many of them for a unique viewing experience. Be sure to pay a lot of attention to where you walk though, there were hundreds of spider webs with large arachnids across many of the pathways.
