Lovely part of the foreshore here with plenty of keen spaces for kids to play.
There is a lovely small playground for kids. Located along the foreshore walking
trail, you can access via car, walking or bike.
There is a bench located near the large tree so shady days!
Toilets aren’t too far. Dogs allowed on leash. Plenty of foodie places nearby. Fabulous views across the bay and over to Melbourne

Spectacular flat walking trail along the waterline. Swans, seagulls, people walking dogs, kids playing and so much more. Ferguson Pier is also a great place to visit. There is a playground. Toilets. Parking is good but $5 per hour. Disabled friendly. Places to eat nearby.
Big Lobster
2023 May 28
First night with @intrepidtravel group and our guide had booked a table for all of us at #biglobster in #playadelcarmen
I ordered the tikin chik as recommended by our guide. Winner winner chicken dinner. Delicious tender chicken Mayan flavours wrapped in foil. To accompany my meal was the obligatory #margaritawithlime
Location: central to all the local amenities. Wheelchair accessible. Toilets on site. Kid friendly. Most dietaries catered for.
Service was exceptional. Prices are steep but what you’d expect ‘on the strip’. A 20% surcharge was a surprise and many not happy about.

East Coast Memorial
2022 Aug 04
As we wandered through Battery Park, we stumbled on the East Coast Memorial which faces the Statue of Liberty.
This memorial honors the 4,601 missing American servicemen who lost their lives in the Atlantic Ocean while engaged in combat during World War II and there is nothing like a memorial to make you take stock of how fortunate we are in the 21st century.
Designed by the architectural firm of Gehron and Seltzer, the monument consists of a large, paved plaza punctuated by eight massive 19-foot tall gray granite pylons (four each on the southern and northern sides) onto which are inscribed the names, rank, organization and state of each of the deceased.
This place took my breath away and I had a tear in my eye. So many have given their lives before us. And architecturally, this is a stunning piece paying homage to so many.
Note: Please be respectful when you visit this memorial. Nothing worse than people taking cheesey selfies with two fingers in the air (peace sign). Be humbled by the loss of these lives.

Kororoit Creek Nature Reserve

Fabulous place to come and enjoy some time in nature (with the sound of cars and trucks nearby).
This is a paved path on the high side and dirt path near the creek. Along the way are many unusual sculptures which are so interesting. The path is shared for walkers and cyclists.
Toilets at the carpark near the freeway. Rubbish bins and water fountain here too. Playground not far away which is small but useful for kids. Lots of open space for play with balls and bats. Creek isn’t in great condition. The sculptures certainly make the place interesting.
