Conveniently located in the centre of Northbridge, I have always found their bubble tea to be consistent and service efficient. You can order in store or online so drinks are ready when you arrive.
There's a small amount of seating inside, or else it's great for takeaway and consuming whilst you walk around Northbridge.

UNIQLO COFFEE
2023 Oct 17
This cafe at the top of Uniqlo isn't large and there's a small but seemingly adequate amount of seating for the fast turnover. We tried the special Geisha blend hand-drip coffee and it was a bit fruity but otherwise not particularly special. Still, it was an ok cup of black coffee.
They also sell a few small packaged snacks to go with your coffee.
Not bad for a convenient coffee break whilst shopping at Uniqlo, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come for the coffee.

Ramen Ichiraku

The regular ramen is good but I wouldn't say the best in Perth. The stock is ok - decent, a bit creamy and rich though there is better out there. Serving sizes also seem a little small for the price. However, overall it's still not a bad place to grab ramen.
Service is very good. Note that you order at the front before you are seated, and you won't be seated until your entire party has arrived.

Horizon Tower

I stayed in this apartment building for many years and got to experience a lot during my stay.
Each apartment has 4 bedrooms which means you get a mix of families and apartment sharing but largely there's a lot of sharing. Personally I've had no problem with either type of tenant.
The typical apartment has two separate bedrooms that have ensuites, and two bedrooms grouped together with their own area door and shared bathroom and cupboards.
Next are some of the not so good points. The design, given the circular shape of the building is a bit awkward compared to a conventional building. Each apartment gets a quarter wedge of the building so bedrooms and the main living area are all shaped around the curve. What's worse is the kitchen and bathrooms are located further towards the middle of the building so don't receive natural light.
There's the odd issue with water supply that may be cut off for parts of the day or overnight throughout the year and this seems more regular for the bottom third or so apartments but they do warn you in advance. There's also regular pest control in place to deal with insects that spread through the apartments. The windows can have loud creaks as the sun's heat moves throughout the day, but you generally get used to it but guests will remind you of the creaks. For me, other noise wasn't much of an issue apart from when there's renovations and even though windows are double glazed, noise from outside creeps in through the not so well insulated windows that do open and balcony doors.
On the plus side, the apartments are spacious and the living area is open and bright. There's a large lagoon pool plus a lap pool which are great by Dubai standards, and a reasonable gym that's adequate for not too intensive workouts. There's also a games room with pool table.
The location right next to a metro station is amazing, and there's a taxi rank out the front that apart from peak hour times means you'll not have to venture far to find a taxi. However, note that on busy Marsa Street, there's nowhere really for people to stop by car and no visitors parking though apartments get 2 car bays each.
It's also in a good location generally, and if you don't mind walking a little bit many things are accessible including Dubai marina mall, JLT and Dubai marina dining, the beach and plenty of supermarkets. Or course you can also drive to them, just note the evening peak traffic times of Marsa Street that slow you down a bit but it's not too bad.
There are open air balconies, which in Dubai get incredibly dusty very fast but it's still a good thing to have if you are ok with the cleaning.
The security company has changed a couple of times over my stay with the current company being one of the better ones and are quite friendly if you get to know them.
The building TV, internet and telecommunications is with du so last I checked that meant you can't use any other provider including, say, OSN directly.

Diesel

It's good to have a Diesel store in the Marina area. They have the season's collections as well as end of season sales where you can pick up good discounts on select items from Diesel's great range of jeans and very comfortable jog jeans, as well as their usually loud tops and accessories. The store is laid out well and it feels nice to browse through.
Service is quite helpful, although sometimes they seem a little too enthusiastic to sell.
