You can see this place has history is beautiful in the evening light. There’s a big car park and you’re charged entry when you walk up. The toilets are basic but clean. It feels like they’re very much improving the venue and it’s getting ready for tourist season. It’s missing a coffee shop and any information about the place.

No chairs inside. Drink in coffee served in takeout cups. Pictures make it look way better than it is.

Low tide let’s you get close to this beautiful little bridge. The water is super clear and it’s suitable for smaller children too. The walk is a little intense and if the weather turns you’ll be able to shelter in a nearby outcrop. It’s the point two rivers meet so after heavy rain the water level can be much higher. Great for photos.

Beautiful period properties that have been painstakingly restored to their former glory. A few hideous buildings that have crept in in more recent years but nothing a good bulldozer won’t sort.

History of it being the hunting grounds to the castle is delightful and it’s apparent the wealthy of Nottingham would have set up camp here.
