I would say that Mercado de la Cebada was the best Mercado I visited during my week in Madrid.
Great buzz and atmosphere about the place, busy, but still able to move from shop to shop and try multiple tapas and raciones.

Many stalls are closed. The prices not so appealing...and the atmosphere just a little disappointing. But,for sure, you can find fresh fruits and vegetables ,meat and fish.
Stunning views. Best AirBnB I have stayed at price service and all great set up. Will be back no question. Long walks, scenery, location to mountains, ocean tourist destinations perfect. No reservation to recommend. 27 minutes the Exteberri perfect
Go there on Saturdays after 14:00. The fish stands put out tables and start serving food. Not so touristy. On regular days you can find there the best grocery around. A bit pricey but worth it.
This place is amazing! Fantastic market with so much amazing, fresh produce. It really makes you want to cook. Saturday afternoon was a revelation. The fish stands all cook and sell off their wares as they are closed Sunday and Monday. So it's trays of octopus, prawns, clams, mussels and bottles of beer and cava. Fantastic atmosphere.
