Unassuming restaurant/cafe located on the ground floor of the Eurostar hotel. Coffee Colombo offers an authentic jaffna cuisine experience. The ambiance, the music, the delicious aromas of freshly cooking crabs.. It allures you from the moment you walk in to the cafe.
A packed restaurant on a random Wednesday night tells you that they're doing something right!
Menus are simple. They have a straight forward list of items and they have perfected every single one!
We had the pittu kottu topped with crab, which is one of their specials. The pittu is always light and fluffy with the perfect consistency to absorb the crab gravy around it and give you the most flavourful bite every time.
They have mastered the art of making soft shell crabs and they use high quality fresh crabs. Cooked to perfection with just the right amount of spice and the crab having absorbed all the flavours, when mixed in with the pittu, absolutely elevates you to a higher plane of existence!
They have a great selection of drinks with smoothies and fresh fruit concoction that are simple, balanced, and most importantly, delicious!
Severely underrated cafe that needs to be famous for their crab and pittu!
I will always keep this on my top list of places To go to for a comfort meal. 10/10 would recommend.

Authentic spicy Jaffa foods. Their pittu+crab curry is a must try. Also their Crab rotti kottu is also very tasty and comes with shredded crab meat. Prices are decent. Might get little crowded during weekends and Friday evenings. Very attentive service by the staff.
I ordered Crab Pittu , Passion mojito for me but the portion was not enough for a person(Dine in). I got a crab koththu for take away as well.The taste was below expectations.There customer service could have been better though.However the interior was beautiful.
Though the name must be misleading, Coffee Colombo is famous for its authentic Jaffna cuisine and their favourite dish is Jaffna Crab curry with pittu. They also have Rice pots, Pittu, Pittu kottu all in Jaffna style.
We had Pittu Kottu with Jaffna crab curry which is kottu made by pittu. Also ordered Pittu with Jaffna crab curry. In both dishes, crab curry was the cherry on the top and the yummiest.
Also orded pittu with masala fish curry and pittu with mutton curry. Both the curries had authentic Jaffna flavours and were very tasty.
We also took pittu kottu with chicken curry and for me I ordered a mutton pot rice which came with 3 veggies, papadam and a very strong rasam. We all loved all the food we had.
Overall the food was great and would never think twice to taste the same. Since we went on a Friday night the place was crowded. But with food so tasty, you can't expect the place to be less crowded.

Prices are little tio much for the portion but, Best masala flavored foods. The fun part is that they are selling puttu with crab curry for 1300+ and giving 1 portion puttu, kottu was amazing some special spicy flavored. And the Milo dinosaur which is 650 is worth it. Some different flavored cuisine they have on the menu overall one time try.
This restaurant was recommended by a friend as having the best Crab and Pittu in the country and boy was he not lying. We went for their most popular dish which was the Pittu with crab and the portion size was just nice and the curry super delicious. We ordered a couple of veges to compliment the crab and they went perfectly well together, all washed down with fresh avocado juice.
We went there to have jaffna style puttu, it was good and homemade taste. Food is good but they can improve the atmosphere more and smell of the seafood was all over the restaurant. They can put air freshener or proper ventilation plan. Also place should be maintained properly, especially cushions area seats are dirty. Hope they will improve the atmosphere
Das Essen war sehr sehr lecker! Die Ambiente und Tischsauberkeit ist verbesserungsfähig.
