Inside the station itself are several restored locomotives on display. I was taking photos of these and the beautiful station building when a security guard came up to me and told me about the museum. It is only small, consisting mainly of display cases of old tickets and models of trains but the staff were very friendly. If I had more time I would have stayed longer.
Wow. We happened to sat wondering where to go next as a tourist and the adventure to find this little gem was so fun. We asked a guard and a cleaner for directions and were let out the main doors (which appear locked) to by guided into the little museum.
It’s a gem. You have to go. It’s free. 3 little floors full of quirky things. Our favourites were the safety posters. The kings seat is very grand. The lady & man in the museum were very helpful and kind. The souvenirs were brilliant and very reasonably priced.

A small museum. I was told that the access to the museum compound is via the main hall of the train station. Thereafter, go through one of the green gates shown in the attached photo and the museum glass door is about 50 metres to the right.
Staff will explain about the artefacts in Thai. They able to speak some English.
Museum sells cute key chains and magnets too.
