The airport handles passenger traffic smoothly and offers a variety of shops and eateries that cater to diverse tastes and needs. Signage is clear and available in multiple languages, facilitating easy navigation through terminals. The airport also features commendable amenities, such as free Wi-Fi, plenty of seating areas, and good accessibility features, which enhance the travel experience for passengers. Additionally, its proximity to the city center, linked by metro, bus, and taxi services, makes it a convenient entry point for visitors to Athens. Overall, Athens International Airport provides a pleasant and user-friendly environment for travelers.
A large airport. It is easily accessible by Metro or bus. It is better to go early as it is always crowded. There are many shops and restaurants. Therevis a free Wi-Fi . The bad thing that I couldn't find any traveler lounge there.
The airport has all modern amenities and the check in and security procedures are seamless. Most of the international flights are available along with cheap air travels like Ryanair and wizzair.
My second visit to Athens. First time with Eurowings, this time I used Aegean airlines. It is great to do last minute shopping. So many good things to bring back home.
There is a vast array of shops a cafes to spend time in. Also plenty seating which is lacking in a lot of airports. Toilets are clean and well looked after.
Athens airport isn't a bad place to get stuck for a few hours. Transfers are a breeze - easy to navigate and well-marked. Plus, there's a ton of shops and cafes to keep you busy. Unlike many airports, seating is plentiful here, so you don't have to fight for a spot to rest your weary legs. And to top it off, the restrooms are clean and well-maintained.
The airport is always very clean, well informed and helpful staff. Fast check-in, excellent shopping therapy, short term parking is fabulous. Easy wheelchair access everywhere for those that require it. Good fast food, and healthy options available. Well stocked pharmaceutical stores, newsagents with all the latest newspapers, magazines from around the world. Beautifully decorated inside and outside at Christmas time too.
Not a bad airport to spend a few hours if you have a long connection, the transfer is easy and well signposted. There is a vast array of shops a cafes to spend time in. Also plenty seating which is lacking in a lot of airports. Toilets are clean and well looked after.
