Hakata station is like any other Japanese transport hub. Take note that there is the JR lines and the Subway lines, two different rail systems that aren't connected.

Gateway to Kyushu
The area around the station is well developed, and you can enjoy restaurants, shopping, and events!

Huge bustling station which directly connects to the rest of northern Kyushu. There are 3 terminal areas, and a bus stop. One for the Shinkansen, one for the rails, and the final for her subway. The staff here are helpful, the benches are far away from the actual loading area, and the location is clean. Plenty of signage to help you get around.

One of the 2 major train stations in Fukuoka City (the other being Tenjin Station) and definitely recommend more time here as it's also a huge shopping centre (even has a Pokemon store! 😍), lots of nice restaurants, the ones on 8th and 9th floor has superb views of Fukuoka city) and must not forget to checkout the roof top garden too! Also happen to see a celebrity and lots of fans taking photos. 😃

Visiting Hakata Station was an incredible experience! This bustling hub is a testament to modern convenience, with its plethora of stores and restaurants catering to every need. From quick bites to leisurely shopping, there’s something for everyone here. The station’s vibrant atmosphere adds to the excitement of travel, making it a must-visit destination for anyone passing through Hakata.

2B (big&busy) train station in Fukuoka. It may be a bit difficult to orientate yourself for the first time. It is a shopping centre with quite a few catering options as well. It is not the most efficient, so, plan a time buffer for your travelling or buying a ticket. The station is clean and seems to be safe.

Unlike other transportation hubs in Japan, Hakata Station is easier to navigate and has lesser crowd. I love staying near the station as I was able catch the Shinkansen and limited express trains to other cities on time.

A very convenient and modern station also an excellent social hub for people to dine and shop here . Lots of restaurants and shops and good department stores. Very beautiful Christmas lighting decorations during the season as well as festivals decorations during different festivals.
