My husband and I spent 7 nights at Frangipani on our honeymoon and to say I was sad to leave is an understatement. When we checked in and another guest leaving told us ‘I’ve been coming here the same week for 25 years”, I knew we had picked the right place for us. The resort was exactly what we were looking for. Having never been to Anguilla, we wanted a place that was full-service/amenity, beautiful, oceanfront, cozy but wasn’t super high maintenance or snobby. Frangipani delivered perfectly for us! The resort is intimate with a great restaurant attached (breakfast is included there for resort guests). My husband used (and loved) the gym every day and I loved being literal steps to the beach. We met a lot of other nice guests and the entire staff is fabulous. You’ll have a hard time deciphering between the staff at Straw Hat and Frangipani because anyone will help as soon as they see you. The front desk staff made several dinner reservations for us and the team on the beach were some of the nicest guys we have ever met.

We stayed in unit 8B which is an ocean facing studio with a nice sized terrace and we loved it. The sunsets from our terrace were spectacular every single night. Our room was very luxurious and comfortable and we could have stayed a lot longer. Thanks to John & the entire team at Frangipani for making our honeymoon and 1st time in Anguilla so memorable. It feels like we are leaving friends behind but we look forward to returning again soon!

The about page on their websites promises the above. This was my fourth visit to beautiful Anguilla in 3 years, my first at Frangipani and this was not a luxury experience. Luxury was not required, but good service was expected. I was very disappointed with our choice of stay, in my opinion this is a 3.5 star property.

I contacted the hotel prior to arriving about other details, and asked to have a room with two doubles. We arrived on Friday afternoon, and departed on Monday morning. The two doubles were actually twin beds for two middle aged adults, also the room had no door to the bathroom and a half shower door for the toilet, no privacy. A non working steamer was in our room and I called to ask for an iron and ironing board, both delivered to our room, both in poor quality, the ironing board was completely rusted and the iron transferred black particles and stained my clothing, so I called and ask for another iron which I didn’t get til Sunday night after a asking about it multiple times.

The air conditioning in the room was also not working properly, after contacting the staff twice about it and sending someone twice, they offered us to sleep in the room across the hall, noting the unit was working properly and much more comfortable. The next morning, I asked management if we could keep that room due to the air conditioner working properly and was told a technician had been called to repair the unit and we could not move.

The wait staff at the pool did not greet me upon arrival, no water service, spilled my drink on me with no apology.

This was my first and only visit, I don’t agree with the inviting statements on your website. I think the proper thing to have done would have been to move us to a better room. I question why this did not happen? Is it because we booked on Hotwire? Or?
