Beautiful cathedral with a lovely interior.

There were a lot of people when me and my man visited, so I recommend coming early before the tourists.

Beautiful church! Nice to look at anytime of the day and even during evening. The interior is so grand I could look at it for a long time.
Place is serene, peaceful.

Helsinki’s Orthodox Cathedral is less striking than its Lutheran counterpart along the road, but is still an attractive building worth a visit. Compared to the rather dark brick exterior, the interior is filled with light, which when the sun shines beautifully captures the wall paintings and gold of the icons. It has a peaceful feel which encourages you to spend a few minutes reflecting. Note opening hours may change around religious festivals such as Holy Week and Easter.

This is quite a beautiful place being the Russian Orthodox cathedral in Helsinki and the largest Russian Orthodox cathedral in all of Western and Northern Europe. It is the center of the Finnish Orthodox community in Finland. I always find the icons particularly attractive in the atmosphere in the church is peaceful. Well worth a visit to a very historic place.
