Our meal at De Belhamel was a Top 10 meal. We ate inside and the first thing I noticed was the aesthetic, decor and lighting. There's a lot of attention to detail and preserving the character and age of the space in a way that's tasteful without being dated.
The service was great as well. They accommodated our boys, aged 9 and 11, engaging them and even offering a side of fries, which wasn't something on the menu. While we had the tasting menu, the boys ordered a steak a la carte. I was impressed that was an option, since many restaurants require all persons to get a tasting menu in order to maintain the pace of the meal. Instead, our server asked to confirm which course the steak should be brought out with. The staff was also helpful with the wine selection.
And all of that is to say nothing of the food, which was really the star of the show. The beet carpaccio was novel and well balanced. Everything was perfectly cooked, and we cleaned our plates on each course. For dessert, we had orange crepes with vanilla ice cream, and made sure to order two, so that we wouldn't have to share with the kids.
If and when we make it back to Amsterdam, we will certainly make it a point to come back here, and will recommend it to anyone visiting.

A gem of a restaurant! Such a highlight of our trip to Amsterdam. They took special care of us with superb service and the food was incredible. I had the fish, the kids had the delicious steak and my husband had the risotto. All finely prepared to perfection!
Fantastic food in a beautiful setting overlooking one of Amsterdam’s most picturesque canals. We really appreciate the considerate service given our requirements. Delicious food and having now been twice it wasn’t a once off. We will be back again for sure.

Everything was very delicious, the tartar came with salad and fries.

Delicious French restaurant. Walking in you’re greeted with a small cocktail bar lounge area. Around the corner is the main dining area with a great view of canal while you eat. We enjoyed the food and the quality of service. Great spot for date night.
The location is great. The outdoor seating nearby the canal looks awesome, but it's quite windy for the past few days so we chose indoor.
The service here was impeccable, really friendly and patient. They were very heart warming. Atmosphere was good too, the decoration is fantastic.
We didn't enjoy the food as much tho, they aren't bad, but it could use some improvement. The capaccio tasted weird as it didn't blend well, same with the tartar. The mussels were great, especially the sauce. The escargot was okay.

The staff was very nice and helpful. Both the greeter and our waiter were very kind and professional. The food is superb, well composed with a variety of French and some local dishes. The restaurant looks really nice and the atmosphere is lovely. Fully recommend
A very nice cost and French vibe restaurant that has many experiences within same place. From sitting at the bar, to the restaurant area or even the terrace.
Menu is wide, satisfying all tastes and is well presented in each plate. The portions are super satisfying and tasty.
Staff are very welcoming, friendly and helpful.
You feel full, but well, butter and French are best friends :)
