It is a cool place to shop, beautiful jewelry store, shirts for all ages and all kinds of Mexican art that is so pretty! We had a very nice lady helping us convert pesos to American. Take the #2 bus, it is orange and AC! The red bus has no AC... Enjoy the ride there and back, just remember to look for the buses that say hotel zone on the digital bus route.
Buyer beware! This is NOT the same thing as Mercado 28. It is overpriced and they are very aggressive. Went in to look for some dresses and immediately noticed something was off. The sales person kept saying everything was hand made and that’s why the dresses were $250! Now I’m all for paying a fair price but I know for a fact you can get them cheaper. He proceeded to follow us around for about 20 minutes. We left with a magnet and a t shirt. Both of which we bought just to get away! Save your money and keep walking. Make sure you go to Mercado 28 and not this place!
I repeat stay away from this place if you’re visiting Cancun. They followed me and my entire family around like we wanted to steal from this horrible shop. The store owner needs to invest in getting an Air conditioner. One of the workers started to talk negative about us until they found out my wife could understand them. Horrible place stay away😔
Good place to buy souvenirs an touristic things. Prices are definitely “tourist pricing” but you should bargain at shops and if you are not sure, go around and ask because the prices definitely vary. I have gotten between 15 USD to 85 USD for the same exact product and they do take USD at most stores. We talked to some locals and if you want to see more local and authentic Mexican markets, Market 23 might be a better experience. For tourist magnets and decor, Market 28 has everything you need.
Lovely market if you are looking for Mexican crafts and silver, just be careful because they sometimes mix the local items with others, double check. Also prices are higher if you speak in English or ask in dollars. There is a lot of competition amongst the different shops. I still recommend the visit and encourage you to buy there instead of the expensive souvenir shops near the hotel….you will be helping the locals. I specially loved the quality of the Mexican tablecloths and some of the silver and ceramics.
